Sail NZ - Lion New Zealand

Built for the late Sir Peter Blake, 'Lion New Zealand' was his entry in the 1985/86 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and won the prestigious Sydney to Hobart in 1984.

In Sir Peter's words, "Lion was overbuilt to withstand the rigours of the Southern Ocean bordering Antarctica". She is in superb condition and is proven testimony to Sir Peter's challenge to the race, and the excellence of Kiwi workmanship.

Your adventure on Lion New Zealand will be more diverse and dynamic than any other in New Zealand, steeped in a vast and colourful history, a once in a lifetime opportunity. Every sailing is different as weather will influence the anchorages and route chosen by the skipper.
